If you're learning Java it won't help you. Those are two completely different things. Is it for making your game more custom or is it for advanced users? Any explanation and examples would be greatly appreciated. In all the games before I never did, or had to put any codes in for my game to work.
I've read that knowing how to code for Java for the upcoming game will help in creating it but I'm having a hard time understanding why. My question is how does knowing how to use Javascript help in RPG Maker MV creating your own game? Java Is actually a really terrible, mind-numbing horror of a language. So you might just have the attitude that MV has better plugins than previous editions.Īlso, JavaScript isn't Java. If "scripting is more powerful now" makes you think that you're obliged to use it, out of some sense that the rest of the engine is less powerful by comparison, well, MV also has a new plugin system, that makes it much easier for you to take advantage of the efforts of scripters in your game. Instead, the engine is also written in JavaScript - so all parts of the engine are accessible to scripters, and scripting is much more powerful now than it used to be. The engine is not written in some other language with JavaScript provided as a mere extension language. What's more to it: MV doesn't have hidden classes. RPGMaker MV Ace or whatever, still with JavaScript, would have less discussion about it. You may be thinking there's more to it because you're hearing more about it, and there is, but mostly you're hearing more because it's completely new. JavaScript's relationship to RPGMaker MV is very similar to RGSS's relationship to RPGMaker VX. Originally posted by Hazedshaman:or is it for advanced users?
